A Million Memes

By now, most of us have seen the picture of a smiling Usain Bolt during his semi-final win of the 100-meter sprint.

Of course, he went on to win the final too. And this picture of him went on to spawn a million memes.

Some are better than others, but you can kind of get the idea if you haven't discovered them before now.

The now famous image has been seen by almost everyone, including talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, who made one of her very own memes...

Running Errands

It's pretty funny I guess. Or is it?

Lots of people don't think so. In fact, they're claiming that Ellen's version of the Bolt meme shows her to be racist.

“This is how I’m running errands from now on," she captioned it...

Not Who I am

It resulted in a million fingers pointed at the popular television personality.

They claimed she was blatantly racially insensitive. Of course, Ellen was always going to have a response to such claims.

“I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am," she tweeted.

Unfortunately for Ellen, this isn't the first time she has been accused of racial insensitivity.

In 2015, her television show featured a skit which parodied Nicki Minaj's sitcom. Featured in the skit, was a black family with butts so big they got in the way of everything.
