It wasn't so long ago that JK Rowling went from one of the richest people in the world to dropping off the billionaire list. It wasn't because she was bad at handling her investments or anything like that, but she simply gave a lot of her money away to charity.

She's Back!

Be it a result of magic or some other such force of super nature, she's back on the billionaire's list.

In actual fact, her resurgence is due to the success of the latest film, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, as well as Harry Potter stage show and tour.

As the New York Times reports, back in 2011/12, Rowling dropped out of the billionaire's circle from not only her charitable giving, but also stiff British taxes too. She was excluded from the Forbes list for the first time in almost a decade.

However, they'll have to add her to the list once again, and it looks as though she'll be there to stay...

Fantastic Beasts... is merely the first in what is set to be a profitable franchise of films, even if they don't reach the astronomical heights of the Harry Potter series.

Over its first weekend, the first film took a very strong $75 million at the US box office, with the same money taken abroad, making it a $150 million dollar weekend for Fantastic Beasts...

Amazingly, that's not all which guarantees Rowling's bank account stays mighty. There's also the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter which have proved immensely popular after opening at Universal Studio theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan. At Warner Bros. Studio in London, there's a Harry Potter attraction there too.

The hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to hit Broadway in 2018, having been a major success in London, reports The New York Times.

All of this looks set to ensure that Rowling will stay on any list of billionaires, and she won't need to curb her charitable giving any time soon.

Curiously, despite being included on the Forbes list back in 2005, Rowling told Katie Curic; “I’ve got plenty of money, more money than I ever dreamed I would have. But I am not a billionaire.”

She hasn't talked about her wealth since.
