The way Margot Robbie fits in to a pair of hot pants in her role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad is almost enough to make your eyes water.

But as it turns out, the girl really had to work for it!

Her workout schedule was pretty insane, really.

It was all courtesy of trainer, Andie Hecker, who was charged with the task of getting the Aussie actress in to serious shape for the role.

I think it's fair to say that she did a pretty good job, right?!

Hecker had Robbie training three whole hours per day on most days of the week, over the course of three weeks. It can't have been easy, but as the trainer explains, the actress certainly gave it her energy.

“She was a total trooper,” Hecker said in an interview with People Magazine.

“It was very satisfying to see her body change into exactly what she wanted it to look like in such a short time.”

As anyone who's been through grueling body transformation will know (Oh you haven't? you MUST try it...!!!) it takes a variety of different exercises to really get results...

“We also mix in non-bulking cardio such as jump rope, rebounder and ballet jumps — which are surprisingly the most challenging form of cardio I’ve ever come across,” said Hecker.

Abs and Butt Focus

Of course, these are the two areas viewers will be drawn to, so that's where the focus was...

“We did a lot of heavy-weighted, low reps of arabesque pulls hooked up to resistance pulleys, as well as arabesque lifts with heavy ankle weights in order to build and lift the butt,” the trainer explained to People.

“We also did a ton of side series outer thigh work, targeting outer glutes with high reps and low weights, to pull those muscles in and create a beautiful line from the waist to the upper thigh.”
