Authorities noticed a sharp decline in the population of Little Penguins due to fox predation on Middle Island in Australia's south. A local chicken farmer by the name of Swampy Marsh suggested that they introduce a pair of trained Maremma sheep dogs to guard the penguins from the threat. That's exactly what happened and there has been no evidence of a fox attack since the project was undertaken.
