Why A Great Granny Has Been Praying To This Lord Of The Rings Figurine For Years

Am I Going To Hell

Am I Going To Hell

I don't know if I should feel bad about laughing at this great-granny who's been praying to a Lord of the Rings figurine for year, or if it's okay...

I mean, I don't want to go to Hell, do I?! But seriously, tell me this isn't hilarious...

Saint Elrond

Saint Elrond

An old lady in Brazil had been praying to Saint Anthony for years. One day, a relative of the great-granny, Gabriela Brandão, took a closer look at the small statue she had of Saint Anthony and noticed something odd about it; it wasn't Saint Anthony at all.

It was Elrond!

It was only after she'd consulted Google that Gabriela figured out that her great-granny had been praying to the half-elven Lord of Rivendell, all these years.

But before she explained the old lady's mistake to her, of course, she uploaded the photos to social media.

“My daughter’s great-grandmother prays to this figure of Saint Anthony every day, but looking more closely…” she wrote.

She then dropped the bomb to the confused old lady. “We tried to explain right away but she didn’t understand at first," said Gabriela, according to Buzzfeed.

All Is Well...

To rectify the situation, they went and got great-granny a new statuette, only this time it was one of the actual Saint Anthony and not a Tolkien character.

From all accounts, the old lady is back at it, praying away as per usual. All is well that ends well, right?
