Most of us are still not sick of Grand Theft Auto V yet, but Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies is already accommodating any and every rumour that fans are throwing out into the twitter-sphere!
Rather than deny or decline comment on any of the rumours flying around, Benzies seems to be going out of his way to encourage that any of them could be true.
“We’ve got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do,” said Benzies. “Where it is going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami.”
At the moment, the biggest rumour (which Benzies doesn’t seem to be confirming nor denying) is that the next Grand Theft Auto will be set in London, which could be a refreshing change from the towns we’ve had in every installment so far.
Then again, there are other rumours coming from other sources that the next GTA could be sprinkled across all kinds of multiple cities, rather than a single setting. The last few games have already introduced players to the concept of switching characters across the city, so why not expand that out to switching characters in completely different cities in separate countries or even continents?
The possibilities are endless when you’re dealing with video games, after all.
And another rumour still, which could easily coincide with any of the other rumours being thrown around, is that the next installment will introduce a female protagonist for the first time in GTA history, which could be a big deal.
Does this mean young preteen girls will be ditching their Barbie dolls for Grand Theft Auto video games? Perhaps not, but it’s still exciting!
“In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven’t found the right game for it yet, but it’s one of the things we always think about,” said Dan Houser.
For now though, everything is speculation so keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground for any news on the latest Grand Theft Auto!
