Many of us will remember that it wasn't long ago somebody at Snapchat HQ figured it was somehow a good idea to release this Bob Marley filter, prompting calls of racism and ignorance.

It was kind of hard to argue, to be honest. Amazingly, they've gone and done it again, only this one could be worse...

The whole Bob Marley debacle dubbed "blackface" is a thing of the past - now we have "yelloweface".

Unfortunately, merely using that word and having a quick glance at this example - it doesn't take a genius to realize that this isn't cool.

Snapchat users aren't happy.

Strangely though, it didn't stop them from actually using the things. But I guess we can give them the benefit of the doubt, with many people using it to illustrate just how absurdly racist the whole thing is.

Mercifully, the filter is no longer available, having been taken down soon after all of the complaints began coming in.

There have, of course, been those on the other side of the fence saying that it's not as bad as it seems  - that perhaps it's not racist at all and just a bit of fun.

According to The Guardian, the guys at Snapchat said that the filter was "anime-inspired" and that it was never meant to offend anyone but it "won't be put back in to circulation".

“Lenses are meant to be playful and never to offend," the said.

And yet, here we are again...
