Alex Rodriguez seems to be leaving plenty of space at his dinner table for someone special to show up.
The 45-year-old former MLB player shared a seemingly innocuous photo of a sweet family dinner with his daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13, on Thursday.
But he appeared to have left table settings and three empty chairs, which would have once been filled by his former fiancée Jennifer Lopez and her two children.
A.Rod had on a simple charcoal T-shirt that highlighted his muscular arms as he passed a skewer to Natasha, who had on a gray graphic sweatshirt and black leggings.
Ella wore a dark graphic T-shirt and seemed to be occupied with her phone at the table
‘Din din with my girls!’ Alex enthusiastically captioned the post, adding the hashtag, ‘#DaddyDinnerDate.’
It’s not clear who snapped the photo, but there may have been others waiting to dine with them, as the family had an impressive spread laid out that was likely more than three people would eat.
Alex had plenty of healthy options for his family, including salad and asparagus, and there were skewers of dark meat and shrimp, along with plenty of rice and other hearty foods.
The former Yankee’s dinner display comes amid reports that he has been feeling ‘jealous’ over how quickly his former fiancée Jennifer Lopez reunited with her ex Ben Affleck.
‘Alex was jealous that Jen and Ben were seeing each other,’ a source told US Weekly. ‘He’s still holding out hope they can reconcile.’
Despite the quick move, the new couple didn’t make plans to spend time together in-person until after Jennifer had ended her engagement.
‘She didn’t see Ben until it was over with Alex,’ a source close to the Hustlers star told People on Tuesday.
According to the insider, ‘Jennifer was in contact with Ben before she split from Alex.’
However, ‘It was friendly conversations and they didn’t make a plan behind Alex’s back that they would date.’
TMZ previously reported that Affleck had been sending Lopez emails dating back to February, when she filming her upcoming comedy film in the Dominican Republic.
The emails weren’t merely friendly, though, but apparently were filled with longing for the Waiting For Tonight singer.
On May 2, both stars made separate appearances at the Vax Live concert in LA, which addressed vaccine hesitancy and encouraged world leaders to focus on equity when distributing Covid-19 vaccines.
Shortly after, the two jetted off to Montana on a private jet, as Ben reportedly owns a chalet in the area.
The two were away for ‘about a week,’ according to E! News, and they ‘were alone’ for the duration of the trip.
Alex seemed to try to move on when he shared some particularly suave-looking photos of himself on Tuesday after he traveled to London.
He looked dapper in a crisp navy blue suit with a navy-and-white striped tie.
A second photo showed him looking more casual without a tie and wearing a dark shirt partially unbuttoned under his suit jacket.
