Royal Wedding Photos Leaked After Hacking

Private photographs taken by Alexi Lubomirski, 43, of Meghan and Harry’s Royal wedding have been leaked following the photographer being hacked. In a statement, a royal stated that security had been compromised. Palace officials immediately went into a panic and launched a security probe in an attempt to shut down the leak.

The wedding, which took place in May last year, was a big day for everyone. While certain aspects were public, which was expected, the couple also had some private photographs taken with their friends and family. However, in the last few days, black-and-white pictures which are tagged “preview” started appearing on social media. Lubomirski has been notified that his images has been stolen by the hackers.

Who is responsible?

So, who was behind this devious theft? Well, it is currently still unclear as to who is responsible and very little is know. A royal source said that there was an online compromise where pictures were hacked and leaked. There has been an internal investigation but no police were involved. It is reported that a number of security measures have been taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again and no more pictures will be leaked.

This isn’t the best time for such a thing to happen as the details of the leak are being released just as Meghan is set to appear at Trooping the Colour, which will be her first public appearance since the birth of the couple’s son Archie on May 6th. Hopefully, this doesn’t affect her too much and the engagement will go ahead as planned.

It is believed that the hackers struck last September, with  Alexi’s pictures only emerging on Twitter and Instagram this month. The pictures are quite intimate, given that only three official wedding images were released. Some of these leaked ones show 34-year-old Harry hugging 37-year-old Meghan with his eyes closed as she smiles for the camera. Other wedding images included formal family portraits of the couple, Meghan’s mum Doria, Kate, William, the Queen and Prince Philip inside Windsor Castle. Alexi was also the chosen photographer for the couple’s official engagement pictures at Frogmore House in December 2017.

Famous Photographer

This isn’t the first time Alexi has photographed stars. Descended from Polish nobility, he has previously snapped icons such as singer Beyoncé, actresses Demi Moore, Natalie Portman, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

When asked to describe the shoot, he said that it was quite a magical moment. He said “Every time Harry or Meghan would talk, one would look at the other and there would be this little sparkle, this little giggle, a little nudge of the elbow and it was so cute. They get in their own little world.” Clearly, the couple are a match made in heaven.

Officials wedding shots were also taken by Alexi at Windsor Castle, which included the couple’s six bridesmaids and four page boys. Last year, in May 2018, stamps were released of his official engagement photographs, which were issued by Royal Mail to mark the wedding, which is very special for Alexi indeed.

While this may seem like an invasion of privacy, that’s because it is. However, there’s not much that can be done. Hopefully this doesn’t affect Harry and Meghan too much. As a young couple in this day and age, especially a significant couple such as the royals, it will always be difficult to hide things from there public and there will always be someone who wants to find out more and will stop at nothing to get what they want.
